Since last week, more than 1,300 people have been evacuated from Israel on Canadian Army planes, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Tuesday evening.

So far, the Royal Canadian Air Force has conducted 12 flights to evacuate people from Tel Aviv, Mr. Trudeau said in an evening speech at the Advisory Center for Jewish and Israeli Relations in Ottawa.
As he has done several times since Hamas’ surprise attack on Israel, the prime minister spoke about the horror and pain caused by the terrorist group’s actions.
“Many of the stories we hear are Canadian stories too,” the Liberal leader recalled, recalling that two Canadian nationals are still missing and at risk of falling into the hands of Hamas.
“We strongly condemn Hamas’ actions and demand the release of all hostages. “Canada fully supports Israel’s right to defend itself in accordance with international law,” he said.
“Hamas is a terrorist organization that massacres and brutalizes innocent people. These people are not freedom fighters. They are not resistance fighters. They are terrorists,” the Prime Minister continued.
