More than 20 foreign companies and around 50 national companies have confirmed their participation in the 24th edition of the International Agro-Industrial Food Fair in Cuba (Fiagrop 2023), said the event’s coordinator, Ángel Recio Aldabó, on Thursday.
On the foreign side, 24 companies from Mexico, Italy, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Armenia, Nigeria, Denmark and Panama have confirmed their participation, most to exhibit products and services, others for professional interest.
The event, which will be held from March 20th to 26th at the Rancho Boyeros Exhibition Center in Havana, will therefore provide an opportunity to explore export options for products and services as well as foreign investment companies in this sector.
During a press conference this Thursday, Recio commented that the fair will also have space to show the results of the application of science and technology in agriculture, forestry and tobacco production.
“They will focus on extensionism and the promotion of values whose items include traditional export products such as tobacco, coffee and honey,” he explained.
He explained that 54 national companies will occupy most of the exhibition space and will represent the Enterprise Management Organizations (OSDE) of the Ministries of Agriculture and Food Industry and the AzCuba group of companies.
In addition, visitors will have an opportunity to exchange ideas with various manufacturers and engage in export-related dialogues, “including attracting foreign investors and buyers and encouraging their partners’ participation to evaluate new business ventures”.
Recio also highlighted that for the first time, micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (mipymes) related to the sector will be present, including EnvaCaribe, which specializes in containers and packaging.
The agenda of the event includes conferences, business forums, product sales, as well as the attractions imposed by the cattle show and the show and competition of the rodeo, which is considered a cattle sport.
