He stated that 57 fatalities and more than 254 injured were transferred to Al-Shifa Medical Complex, but clarified that the number was so high that it exceeded the capacity of medical staff to treat these cases.

Another 20 bodies and 160 injured were taken to Kamal Adwan Hospital in the north of the strip, and more than 90 wounded were taken to Al-Awda Medical Center in Jabalia.

In the Al-Zaytoun district, southeast of Gaza City, planes bombed several residential areas, leaving dozens dead and injured, he added.

Wafa reported that at least 25 citizens, most of them children and women, were killed in another attack on the Nuseirat and Al-Bureij refugee camps.

The World Food Program says the coastal enclave's population is suffering “unprecedented desperation”, while the United Nations warned that 2.2 million people are on the brink of famine.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations also recently warned that Gaza's population is facing unprecedented food insecurity and acute hunger.
