According to the Gaza Health Ministry, the death toll on the Palestinian side since the Israeli attacks began was 8,525 people. More than 122 Palestinians have died as a result of Israeli violence and incursions in the occupied West Bank.

On the Israeli side, more than 1,400 people were killed, mostly civilians, who lost their lives in the first Hamas attack on October 7th. Around 240 people were taken to Gaza as hostages of the insurgents.

The number of children affected by the conflict in the Gaza Strip continues to increase. More than 3,000 children died in the bombing, thousands more are missing or in captivity and more than a million are without water, food and other basic necessities.

Gaza has become a “graveyard” for children, a UNICEF official said, reporting that more than 3,400 people have died under Israeli bombardment and more than a million are suffering from severe lack of basic needs and lifelong trauma.

Dozens of people entered the Rafah border crossing from the Gaza Strip to Egypt on Wednesday. It appears to be the first time that foreign passport holders have been able to leave the besieged Palestinian enclave since the latest escalation of the conflict between Israel and Hamas more than three weeks ago.

In the early hours of Wednesday, telecom providers Paltel and Jawwal reported a “total disruption” of internet and mobile services in the enclave, the second major outage in five days. Humanitarian aid organizations have warned that these power outages are seriously affecting their work in the already desperate situation in the area.
