Country singer Morgan Wade is trying to debunk rumors that she and Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star Kyle Richards have anything other than a platonic relationship.
The 28-year-old singer-songwriter insisted “we’re friends” in an interview with People published Wednesday.
The clarification came after Kyle, 54, joined Morgan in her music video for her single “Fall In Love With Me” earlier this month, in which the two women pine for one another, culminating in a passionate kiss between the two.
However, the musician previously admitted that she and Kyle were just trying to “troll the trolls” with the video.
Morgan reiterated that she had never heard of Kyle until two years ago, when the reality star became smitten with her music.

“The only reality TV I watched was 90 Day Fiancé and I had to stop watching it because it put me in such a bad mood because I was so upset with these people,” she explained, adding, ” But I had never seen the Real Housewives ‘ever.’
When Kyle discovered Morgan’s music and posted an Instagram Stories post praising it, a friend of the country music star saw her and let her know that Kyle was an influential person.
Morgan sent the Halloween actress a message thanking her for the signal boost. This was the first letter of a soon-to-be-formed friendship.
But even amid rumors that the two are dating, which seems to stem in part from their close friendship and partly from Kyle’s split from husband Mauricio Umansky, the musician insists they are just “friends.”
“The internet is a stupid place,” she added, citing the seemingly endless supply of love rumors.
After the whispers made the rounds on the internet, Morgan spent three days at her family’s home in Virginia, during which she didn’t have the will to get out of bed, she previously confessed to the New York Times.
Kyle admitted in the same profile that she feared Morgan was “collateral damage” during their breakup and that she felt “a degree of guilt” because her friend was involved in the drama.
Wade has also remained silent about her sexuality, which may have fueled even more speculation about her love life.

Wade noted to People that her similarities to Kyle helped the two bond and strengthened their friendship.
The Bravo regular is a teetotaler while Morgan has been sober for six years.
Kyle was also able to empathize with her friend’s fears after she tested positive for the RAD51D gene, putting her at increased risk of developing breast cancer.
Her mother, Kathleen, died in 2002 as a result of being diagnosed with the same disease.
“She helped me connect with some really good surgeons,” Morgan shared. “We talked about it and then she came up with the idea that we could do a documentary and follow all these things, so we’ve been out there.” She was just really there for me through it all.’
Despite the controversy that arose after they became friends, the singer was still happy to have Kyle in her life.
“It was just a great friendship,” she adds. “I know if Kyle vouches for you, you’re a good person.”
She added that Kathy Hilton’s half-sister is a far more complex character than RHOBH viewers might realize.

“She’s extremely smart when it comes to business and when it comes to mentally ignoring shit,” Morgan explained. “What’s special about Kyle is that people watch her on reality TV, but I need to get to know her outside of that, and I don’t watch the show, so it’s not like I see her from that perspective.”

Despite being interested in Kyle’s connection to her life, Morgan has tried to keep her focus on her upcoming LP Psychopath, which will also feature Fall In Love With Me.
“I put a lot of pressure on myself with this record. Was the first just lucky? Was I just lucky that it turned out great?’ she wondered aloud. ‘[Country] has absolutely no idea what to do with me. But that’s a good thing, because you stand out. “It worked, I stayed true to what I want to do.”
