Morris & Essex Lines and Gladstone Branch Service Update After Severe Weather Impact – Effective Immediately | NJ TRANSIT | New Jersey Transit Corporation

UPDATE: Limited service will be available Wednesday, March 9 between South Orange and New York/Hoboken; The Gladstone branch will be closed.

Due to thunderstorms and strong winds on Monday night, the following adjustments are in effect. Recent severe weather has caused a large tree to fall on the track of the Morris & Essex (M&E) lines in Maplewood, damaging the catenary and overhead wires the structure supports before landing on the railroad tracks. Customers are advised to visit njtransit.com for the latest service information and account for additional travel time.

M&E and Gladstone Branch tickets and passes will be used on NJ TRANSIT Raritan Valley Line and Montclair-Boonton Line trains, as well as NJ TRANSIT buses and private carrier buses.

Wednesday, March 9, limited service will operate on a modified schedule between South Orange and Penn Station New York/Hoboken. The Gladstone branch will be suspended until further notice.
