This Thursday, before the ball rolled for the second leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16 against the Universidad Católica, the fans of São Paulo held a nice party in the Morumbi area and had the illustrious presence of the British actor Jamie Bower, from the series Stranger things.
Bower plays the villain Vecna in Stranger Things, one of the most watched of the moment, and made a point of registering the crowd in São Paulo upon the arrival of the bus carrying the tricolor delegation.
With fireworks, torches, instruments and flags, thousands of São Paulo residents created a decisive atmosphere as the team arrived at Morumbi Stadium. For the duel with the Universidad Católica this Thursday, the club sold 46,000 tickets in advance.
In the first leg, São Paulo in Chile beat Universidad Católica 42, with goals from Luciano (2), Reinaldo and Calleri, but three players were sent off: Igor Vinícius, Rodrigo Nestor and Calleri.
To qualify for the quarterfinals of the Copa Sudamericana, São Paulo can lose even by a goal. If Rogério Ceni’s team loses by two goals, a penalty shootout decides. Católica will only progress if they beat Tricolor in the middle of Morumbi by three goals.
