The Russian Defense Ministry announced that the country's air defense shot down 21 Ukrainian drones in occupied Crimea and four Russian regions during the night: Tass reports.
“Yesterday evening, an attempt by the Kiev regime to carry out a terrorist attack using aerial drones on facilities on the territory of the Russian Federation – a statement said – was stopped. Air defense systems in service destroyed 21 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over the territories of the Republic of Crimea (11), Belgorod (5), Bryansk (3), Kaluga (one) and Tula (one).
The governor of the Kaluga region, Vladislav Shapsha, announced that the debris of the downed drone fell on the roof of a non-residential building on the outskirts of the city of the same name, without causing any injuries or casualties. Ria Novosti reports about it.
For his part, Sevastopol Governor Mikhail Razvozzhaev said that a Ukrainian drone was shot down over the sea area near Belbek without causing any damage to the infrastructure.
At the same time, the governor of the Bryansk region Alexander Bogomaz reported that one of the drones was destroyed in the Navlinsky district.

Zelensky is “keeping pace with Moscow in drone operations”
One of Ukraine's main goals for the current year is to keep up with Russia in drone operations, the production of which is to be significantly increased: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this yesterday evening, as local media reported.
“The more successful Ukrainian drones are, from FPV to strategic drones, the more lives of our warriors we will save,” the president said, adding that he held a video conference with the military leadership

On December 19, Zelensky announced that Ukraine would produce one million drones in 2024. According to Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, Ukraine produced 50,000 FPV drones last month and Kiev aims to increase its drone production to tens of thousands per month.
