They want to continue to believe that everyone is safe, but the testimonies of witnesses suggest otherwise, according to the Ukrainian authorities. Ukraine also accuses Russia of forcibly relocating hundreds of thousands of people from devastated Ukrainian cities to Russia in order to use them as “hostages” to force Kiev to surrender.

According to Ludmila Denisova, from the Ukrainian Ombudsman, 402,000 people, including 84,000 children, have been abducted to Russia. The Kremlin gave almost the same figures for the displaced, but said it wanted to go to Russia voluntarily. The United Nations investigates war crimes

The European Union accuses Russia of committing war crimes in Ukraine. Russia is attacking the civilian population by attacking, inter alia, hospitals, schools and shelters. The UN Human Rights Office also investigates reports of war crimes on both the Russian and Ukrainian sides.

US President Joe Biden wants to find out about the situation during his visit to Poland. A speech in Warsaw is scheduled for Saturday.
