The Frigate «Admiral Gorshkov» Vladimir Putin’s Navy is preparing to cross the Strait of Gibraltar to the Mediterranean Sea- armed with hypersonic missiles zircons, described by the Tsar himself as the best in the world. “I repeat once again – he said on December 12 during the summit with the commanders of the armed forces – our zircons have no rivals in the world”. On the same day, the Kremlin chief then announced the departure of the warship. More recently, however, it was Defense Minister Serghej Shoigu who called for the end of embarkation operations weapons, given the “long voyage in the seas of the world”. The destination was officially announced three days ago by Tass, which, citing sources close to the Kremlin, had confirmed the ship’s leading role in the Mediterranean squadron. This is a historic mission for the Russian Federation, both because the “Admiral Gorshkov” is one of the most important ships for Moscow and because the Zircons represent one technological priority the Russian fleet. These missiles, aka 3M-22 Zircon, designed to destroy the largest land and sea units – aircraft carriers, cruisers and destroyers – and is considered one of the deadliest Russian weapons. The latest test with the zircon, according to the Moscow Ministry of Defense – writes Portal – has covered a distance of about thousand kilometers and their speed can be about nine or ten times the speed of sound.
