The Pope prays for war refugees in Ukrainian and Russian

Moscow warns there is a risk of a Third World War agency ANSA

World War III is a “real” danger, even if the hypothesis of a nuclear conflict is unacceptable. At the end of another day of raids on strategic Ukrainian targets, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, in an interview with state-run Channel One’s program “Bolshaya Igra” (The Big Game), also raised the tone of the clash verbally and accused the NATO to enter a proxy war with Moscow by supplying arms to Ukraine. A risky decision, warns the head of diplomacy in Moscow, because it will hit back at the West, which will spread the same weapons in the countries from which they originate.
Referring to the use of nuclear warheads, Lavrov recalled that in January the five permanent members of the UN Security Council issued a statement on the inadmissibility of such a war. “This is our fundamental position,” he stressed, “that guides us and of course I don’t want these risks to be artificially inflated now that the risks are quite high.”
An escalation only partially mitigated by the announcement that negotiations with Ukraine will continue. Even if Lavrov does not stop throwing an additional dig: “Goodwill has its limits. And if it is not mutual, it will not contribute to the negotiation process.” Then the assurance that “we will continue negotiations with the delegation of (Ukrainian President) Volodymyr Zelenskyy and continue contacts”. However, the minister accused Zelenskyy of “faking” negotiations, alluding to his past on the stage. “He’s a good actor,” but, he pointed out, “on careful observation of his words, ‘a thousand contradictions will emerge’. Finally, he did not fail to throw water on the fire, declaring his confidence that “everything will certainly end with the signing of an agreement”, the parameters of which, however, “will be defined by the level of achievements on the ground”. The relation to Donbass, and perhaps not only to him, is all too obvious.
