Vehicle recalls are always intended to resolve issues that may endanger the safety of occupants or other road users. However, they can also give an idea of the quality and reliability of the product.
Recently, US research firm iSeeCars looked at which models suffered the most recalls in 2022, then searched the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) database for the past decade to come up with a ranking of the vehicles most likely to have over 30-year period.
This is how the top 10 is made up:
As you can see, Tesla occupies four of the top five places. On the other hand, it is important to point out that the problems that require a recall from this manufacturer are very often of an electronic nature and that a simple remote software update can be enough to fix them. In other words, no visit to a Tesla Service Center is required.

That was particularly the case when Tesla had to recall more than 360,000 vehicles (including around 20,000 in Canada) in February after discovering malfunctions in its “Full Self-Driving” driver assistance software that could cause the vehicle to lock up at intersections responds in a potentially dangerous manner.
