With this in mind, the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo took advantage of the 2,380th. March of their organization to call for resistance and combat to the adjustment policies of the “libertarian” Javier Milei as soon as he takes over the presidency.

The women’s call extended to trade unionists and social organizations called to unite to resist the policies of the new Argentine head of state.

Let us recall that Javier Milei announced during his election campaign that he would cut Argentina’s public spending if he assumed the presidency. “Libertarian” measures include the closure of ministries, the privatization of public companies and other measures that lead to the elimination of government subsidies.

Added to this is the fear of human rights organizations of a regression in politics, which during the last military dictatorship (1976-1983) made it possible to convict oppressors of crimes against humanity.

The organization also took the opportunity to pay tribute to Hebe de Bonafini, a reference for the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo, one of the central protagonists in the fight for the survival of the 30,000 prisoners disappeared during state terrorism.
