Motorola presents a whole range of new smartphones, including the G53. Proposed next month from 200 euros, the technical sheet is quite tempting given the price: Android 13, 5G and a 120Hz screen.

Ahead of the MWC, which takes place at the end of February, Motorola presented several smartphone models: the E13, G13, G23 and G53. They’re all entry-level phones, but one of them can catch our attention: the G53. It has a few arguments in its favor that could make it a very good $200 phone.
The Motorola G53 is entitled to a 120 Hz screen
This Motorola smartphone comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD panel that benefits from a beautiful 120Hz refresh rate. If 120Hz isn’t a priority for everyone, it’s rather rare to point that out on an entry-level model. On the audio side, we are entitled to Dolby Atmos via the stereo speakers.

As for the photo part, we have some details: there is a 50 Mpx main photo sensor, which is accompanied by a 2 Mpx macro sensor. While we haven’t tested the latter, there’s a good chance it’s serviceable at best, useless at worst. There is also a fingerprint reader on the power button on the side.
Android 13 comes in the entry-level class
If the latest version of Android is gradually being used on models from different brands, the entry-level market is currently not benefiting from it. Samsung is an exception in the market by betting on rapid deployment of One UI 5, its Android 13-based user interface. The Motorola G53 is also pleasing as it will take advantage of Android 13 as soon as it is released.

An operating system that runs thanks to the Snapdragoon 480+ SoC (which offers 5G) as well as with 4 GB of RAM. Two versions of storage space are available: 64 or 128 GB, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB using a microSD card. In terms of connectivity, the Motorola G53 is entitled to two SIMs: a SIM and an eSIM. Everything is powered by a 5000mAh battery.
price and availability
The Motorola G53 will be available next February in the unique blue color in two versions:
- A version with 64 GB of storage for 199 euros
- A version with 128 GB of storage costs 249 euros
