Mount Pinacle opens its hiking trails for the second time in winter – Le Progrès de Coaticook

OUTSIDE. Harold F. Baldwin Park is reopening the Mount Pinacle trails for the winter season.

On January 3rd this year, the first outdoor enthusiasts were “officially” able to reach the summit for the first time.

Last year, the organization tried the experiment for the first time in the cold season. “It had gone well despite the whims of Mother Nature,” said Vincent Brochu, a member of the group’s board and a Coaticookois city councilor. However, we expected more enthusiasm. We had enough paid admissions to cover our costs and ensure some sustainability for the winter opening. »

Anyone attempting to climb the mountain must wear crampons or snowshoes. Visitors will be charged a daily rate of $7 and must reserve their time slot online, as they did in the summer. A season pass, costing $28, will also be available. Residents of the Coaticook MRC always have free access to the mountain.

Remember that Harold F. Baldwin Park is the organization that manages the trails at Mount Pinacle.
