Nearly 25 years after 2000’s The Gladiator, director Ridley Scott reunites with Joaquin Phoenix for an epic new historical story in which the Oscar-winning actor plays France’s first emperor, Napoleon Bonaparte.
The film’s trailer, unveiled on Monday, shows several battlefields that marked the career of the military commander and politician, who distinguished himself during the wars of the French Revolution before becoming the first Emperor of France in 1804.
