“There is still Tomorrow”, a black and white feminist film that has already been seen by 5 million people in Italy, tells the story of a woman exposed to her husband's violence and her emancipation. It will be released in cinemas in France on March 13th.
The story follows the daily life of a woman in a working-class neighborhood in Rome, Italy, during the post-war period. Mother, who is exposed to an extremely violent husband, one day receives a letter in her name that is the catalyst and leads her to her emancipation. On paper, this black and white film about domestic violence wasn't that popular.
The film's release made headlines in Italy
And yet within just a few weeks, “C'è ancora domani” (There is Another Tomorrow) has become one of the greatest successes in Italian cinema. Five million viewers have already seen it. It will be released in France on March 13th. “I am a grandmother of eight grandchildren. I sent them all to him,” laughs a woman at the exit. “In my opinion we should show it in all schools so that we can deepen this discourse,” said a young woman. This story hit the Italian news in the fall when a 22-year-old student was killed by her boyfriend, the same age. The story shocked the country.
