Last Wednesday, Maripier Morin and its partners launched MOX, a range of non-alcoholic beverages. For the occasion, several personalities and media gathered at Bistro Joséphine in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
Maripier, a creative person, was among other things involved in designing the brand, which she believes should be funky and sophisticated. “We had to be proud to hold the can in our hands. […] Why don’t we take inspiration from the 70’s, from the middle of the century? Hence the forms, counter forms, the bronze on the can. » See pictures in the posts at the end of the article.
Apart from the can, of course, the content was also important. The range is therefore available in four flavors reminiscent of those of various well-known alcohols. As refreshing and summery as the others, they’re available exclusively at the 500 Sobeys dealers in Quebec.
MOX’s mission complements the podcast Grains d’espoir, in which Maripier participates as a moderator. For every can sold, an amount is donated to organizations that help fight addiction. “This project cannot exist if there is no social mission. Otherwise it looks like nonsense to me. You can prepare mocktails without alcohol […], but for us, the four partners, it was the focus of our concerns. We really wanted to bring that up. »
Maripier has been recovering for three years. “I won’t knock on wood because it takes effort, but also a lot of love and a lot of people. At Fellowships Anonymous, the twelfth step is to give back. I only keep what I have if I give something back. It’s my way of giving back. Knowing that therapy can be prohibitively expensive for some people who choose not to, it is thanks to her to MOX and Grains of Hope that she has made this final leg of her journey possible.
While Maripier will be joining the team for the show “On part ça d’even” on WKND, his relationship with the audience is going well. “Of course I want the public to like me […], but I can only work in this direction. What’s important to me today is that my family loves me, that my parents are proud of me, that my boyfriend realizes that I’m on the right path, that my daughter has a good mother who takes care of herself, who strives to improve as a person. I think the audience is there and it warms my heart. I just have to keep it healthy. »
What kind of project can we wish him for the future? “I will take people before the project. People I can really trust, who have a desire to work with me and take me places I’ve never been. Let it be done with respect, love and acceptance. After that, the project is no longer serious. »
