Strange but true

What do high-profile celebrities do after being “canceled”? Go underground.

YouTuber MrBeast sent claustrophobics into the mountains after he was buried alive for a week for his latest stunt, as seen in a video with over 57 million views, leaving him in “mental anguish”.

“Please don’t try this at home,” MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson, 25, warned his 212 million subscribers in the underground hit’s caption.

Because of his edgy and increasingly expensive challenge videos, the teen has become the most popular and richest YouTuber in the world – he reportedly earns between $3 million and $5 million a month in advertising revenue.

This included everything from counting to 100,000 and having participants navigate a “Resident Evil”-style “laser maze.”

In his latest jaw-dropping stunt, the social media sensation decided to be buried underground for seven days, similar to Uma Thurman’s character in Kill Bill.

To begin this subterranean sojourn, the suit-clad Donaldson was first lowered into the ground in a state-of-the-art transparent coffin equipped with food and water like a futuristic vampire.

They also equipped the human cicada’s sarcophagus with cameras to both record the video and make sure nothing went wrong.

Eventually, Donaldson had his friends use an excavator to dump 20,000 pounds of dirt onto the coffin, effectively sealing the YouTuber beneath the surface.

“I will commit my life to this coffin for the next seven days,” Donaldson declared in his hibernation chamber.

Despite the safety precautions, the seven-day nap proved psychologically taxing for the daredevil. He was moved to tears several times during his voluntary funeral, including when he was released from the coffin.

There was also concern that he would not be able to stand up due to the blood clots in his legs from having to lie in a small space for so long.

Fortunately, this fear never came true and Donaldson survived his temporary burial unscathed.

In doing so, he broke the previous record he set in 2021 after being buried alive for 50 hours.

In addition to his outrageous stunts, Donaldson is also known for his numerous and sometimes controversial acts of charity.

These charitable deeds include tipping a waiter for a car, helping deaf people hear, and buying up an entire neighborhood so his employees and family can live in luxury.

The internet star recently came under fire after funding the construction of 100 wells across Africa to provide clean drinking water to an estimated 500,000 people.

Many critics accused him of being a “white male character” who “monetizes kindness.”

However, MrBeast refused to bow down to critics.

“I already know I’m going to be canceled for uploading a video that helps people, and to put it bluntly: I don’t care.” Donaldson explained on X. “I will always use my channel to help people and inspire my audience to do the same.”
