The man is believed to be Michel “Doune” Guérin, the former leader of the defunct Les Mercenaires motorcycle club. The attack allegedly occurred early Monday at a home on Avenue des Orioles.
According to our information, he suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the chest. He was taken to hospital and died from his injuries in the following hours.
He is also said to have been the target of “warnings” such as shots and Molotov cocktails in the places where he stayed in recent weeks.

However, the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) is not confirming this information at this time.
Michel Guérin was imprisoned in the United States, notably for drug trafficking. He was also arrested in Quebec in 2005 as part of the Despote Project.
The latter has been at large since 2019 and continues to have great influence in the region.
In particular, he sued the city of Quebec in 2022 after being denied financial support during the pandemic from the Univers Gym Fitness in Charlesbourg, which he owns.
