Charged with another double murder

By the time he became an adult, he may have committed four murders: One of the suspects in this case, 18 years old, was already in prison at the time of his arrest. He is currently being held for another double murder that occurred in Montreal West in July 2022, a few months before the grandmother and her granddaughter were shot. Two young men, aged 17 and 18, were shot while driving.

The young suspect, then 17 years old, was arrested in Toronto.

We cannot reveal his identity as he was a minor at the time of the incident. He was arrested by investigators at the Bordeaux prison on Tuesday, Montreal police confirmed in a news release.

He is expected to appear in court Wednesday to face new charges of first-degree murder, authorities said.

His alleged accomplice, a 23-year-old man, will appear in the Montreal courthouse the same day.

It was the Montreal City Police Service’s (SPVM) Major Crimes Unit that arrested the two suspects in the December 2022 double murder.

Three shoots in three hours

The armed violence in Montreal West this summer left two dead and two injured and also shook citizens’ sense of security.

Around 2 a.m., two people in a vehicle were attacked while driving on the corner of Ronald Drive and Avon Road. The driver who was hit in the upper body died from his injuries. The passenger died in hospital. They were two men aged 19 and 17 who, according to our information at the time, were unknown to the police.

On the night of July 28, 2022, there were three shootings within three hours that had nothing to do with each other.

The young suspect, now suspected of four gun murders, was arrested in Ontario last spring for the 14th and 15th murders of 2022.
