It all started in the first half of the 90s, when the presenter’s marriage to Íris Abravanel went through a serious crisis and even became a police case. At that time, according to Folha de S. Paulo, the writer filed a complaint against her husband and accused him of “leaving the house”.

However, the attempt failed. It was later reported that the amount of the pension was set at $35,000, higher than SBT’s owner’s proposal and much lower than the author’s $64,000 request.
Amid the scandal, they ran the headline “End of a Marriage” and announced that the couple were separating after 16 years of marriage.

Silvio Santos’ marital chaos took on even greater contours with the neverconfirmed rumors that country singer Sula Miranda, who’s been dubbed the “Queen of Truck Drivers,” was the big linchpin of the nearbreakup.
After the controversial breakup gained momentum, Jornal Brasil, which detailed all parts of the scandal, released a note announcing the lovebirds’ reconciliation. However, Sula Miranda was pulled from SBT.
In 2016, years after the scandalous incident, the singer addressed the topic and revealed the truth everyone wanted to know. “It was very difficult back then. I was too young and at the peak of my career. I had just fulfilled my dream of having a prime time show on SBT,” she told R7.
“It was very difficult to live in this situation because I am an extremely correct person. i have values I wouldn’t want to do that. It was embarrasing. But I learned from the lesson. Then people saw what my character is and it’s not for nothing that I have respect from my fans,” he added.
Despite the real turmoil in the past, the marriage of Silvio Santos and Íris Abravanel is experiencing the best result. The lovebirds have been together since 1978.
