“Mussum, o filmis”, now in cinemas, tells the story of the famous member of “Os trapalhões”, but leaves out a current chapter in the story of the comedian, who died in 1994. Almost thirty years later, his legacy is still a source of contention in court. 31yearold dentist Igor Palhano, whose son was discovered through a DNA test in 2019, is still fighting for paternity recognition.

The actor is the protagonist of a film that tells the story of the clumsy samba singer
Igor was not consulted by the film and gave up any attempt to get closer to his paternal family, who agreed to the recognition. The older brother agreed to create the DNA, but after that everyone turned away from Igor, who to this day has not received any financial help from the singer. He claims he’s tired of chasing after his brothers.
In 2021, Igor filed a lawsuit to be included in his father’s inventory after his four brothers said he was not entitled to the inheritance. This means that the heirs’ assets are blocked until the proceedings are completed.
The brothers had to sign a document in which they acknowledged that Igor was Mussum’s biological son. And with that he would be added to his father’s inventory. It turned out that the brothers refused to sign the document. Therefore, the dentist had to get her signature again to be recognized as Mussum’s son.
Paternity was established through a DNA test conducted in 2019. In October 2020, Igor told EXTRA that he intended to include the comedian’s surname, Bernardes Gomes, and keep that of his foster father. He also said that he would not give up his right to be an heir even if he did not need financial help.
“I already feel recognized. The paper only shows the court that I am his son,” he said, who only discovered his biological father’s name at the age of 18, but only decided to delve deeper into the story in 2019, after the death of his stepfather to do a DNA test. Igor knows the comedian’s other four children and gets along well with his brothers.
Mussum died in July 1994. At the time, the comedian was suffering from cardiomyopathy and underwent a heart transplant. However, an infection led to the artist’s death at the age of 53.
