Before the final game of his career on Sunday afternoon, the pitcher saw his family’s wish come true when the St. Louis Cardinals gave him a dog as a retirement gift.

In his final season in Major League Baseball, the 42-year-old shooter posted a 5-11 record and a 7.40 earned run average. Since his debut in 2005, he has 200 wins and 128 losses in 411 starts and a 3.53 earned run average.
