“My funniest weeks in a long time” – Aaron Rodgers

New York Jets star quarterback Aaron Rodgers says he hasn’t enjoyed football so much since joining the team last April.

“The last six weeks have been the most fun I’ve had in a long time. It’s a pleasure to come to work and be excited about what we do,” Rodgers said Friday after practice.

The pivot also praised the work of his team’s coaching staff, which is led by Robert Saleh.

“We have a great quarterback group. “It’s great to be able to work with Todd Downing (passing coordinator) and Rob Calabrese (quarterbacks coach) and Nathaniel Hackett (offensive coordinator),” said No.12.

The California native also found good words for whoever he inherited the No. 1 quarterback position from, Zach Wilson.

“He is unbelievable. He doesn’t make my life hell every day,” Rodgers joked to the media.

Promising Players

The veteran says he’s very fortunate to be able to work with promising players within the Big Apple organization.

“One day we may have the best cornerback and the best receiver in the NFL. “I think that’s a real opportunity for these guys,” Rodgers said, referring to Sauce Gardner and Garrett Wilson.

Gardner competed in the Pro Bowl in his rookie season and was named to the 2022 All-Rookie Team and NFL Most Valuable Roster. Wilson was also on the list of rookie stars.

Rodgers spent the first 18 seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers. Last season, the veteran quarterback had 26 touchdown passes and rushed for 3,695 yards.
