“My kids are all queer,” Marcia Gay Harden reveals while raising money for anti-LGBTQ laws

Actress Marcia Gay Harden revealed that her three children are all queer during a fundraiser to fight anti-LGBTQ legislation.

The 63-year-old actress shares Eulala, 24, Julitta, 19, and Hudson, 19, with her ex-husband, director Thaddaeus Scheel, 58.

She appeared in Drag Isn’t Dangerous: A Digital Fundraiser, which raised money to fight anti-LGBTQ laws like Tennessee’s anti-drag law, which is expected to go into effect in July.

When asked by co-host Adam Shankman why she is showing her support for the cause, she revealed that her three children are queer.

“What drives me is that it’s right and what’s happening right now is wrong. What drives me is — my kids are all queer,” Harden said.

She added: “My eldest child is non-binary. my son is gay My youngest is fluent. And you know, they are my children and they teach me every day.”

The actress went on to say that the new law in Tennessee and other similar laws popping up in other states are “so fear-based.”

“It spreads that kind of fear and hatred among other people. I think this country will fight it,” she said.

She also promoted her performance on Instagram, posting photos from the event to her 116,000 followers.

“The only dangerous thing about drag is how hot these queens are!” Harden began at her post.

“Join the @dragisntdangerous fundraiser in support of LGTBQ+, which basically means supporting us all!” she continued.

“Our nation, our neighbors, our children, our artists, our singers, our dancers, our better leaders, CEOs, writers, spiritual leaders, basically our humanity,” she said.

“Gay is here to stay. Drag is here to stay. Donate what you can and join us to spread the love,” she concluded.
