My Kitchen Rules star Chris reveals heartbreaking family tragedy as he admits he lost a twin son at birth while the other was diagnosed with cerebral palsy
My Kitchen Rulers star Chris made a heartbreaking confession on Tuesday as he revealed that his twins were struck by tragedy at birth.
The 47-year-old New South Wales native said his sons were born prematurely at 25 weeks and one of them, Nicolas, died just eight days later.
His other son, Adrian, fortunately survived but was kept in the neonatal intensive care unit for “approximately four months,” TV Week reported.
However, Adrian was later diagnosed with cerebral palsy and required regular therapy and constant care.
Chris and his wife Mayleen had to give up work for two years to care for their now six-year-old child.

However, when Mayleen returned to work, Chris decided to stay home and primarily care for his son.
“I consider it a blessing that I was able to be there for my family to give them the support that everyone needed,” the chef said.
“Obviously it was a pivotal moment in my life. “I have a much better perspective on what is important and what is not.”
Chris and his friend Aaron both crashed My Kitchen Rules earlier this month and have since caused quite a stir with their tactics.
Accusations of “sabotage” were made last Tuesday night after Aaron began describing the other teams as “basic.”
What really caused a stir, however, was when Melbourne’s Christian accused Team Chris and Aaron of sabotage.
Christian believed that they intentionally expressed harsh criticism to annoy the other teams and improve their own chances of winning the competition.

The trouble started when Chris and Aaron criticized the first two dishes Claudean and Anthony made during their Instant Restaurant round.
Since Chris and Aaron were the only ones at the table who didn’t like the main course, Christian accused them of having hidden motives behind their criticism.
“I think Aaron and Chris are very, very critical of a very, very good dish. Is this a tactic? Are they trying to scare everyone away?’ he said.
When it came time to award overall meal scores, all MKR teams gave Claudean and Anthony a six or seven, but Aaron and Chris only a four.
