Mysterious naked ‘wolf man’ spotted in German Harz mountains: Hikers photograph man ‘naked with a wooden spear in his hand near a ruined castle’

According to the picture, a mysterious “wolf man” was spotted roaming through the forests in the Harz mountains in central Germany.
The man, who is believed to have lived in the forest for five years, was caught on camera by two hikers who reportedly saw him sitting naked at the foot of a ruined castle, holding a wooden spear.
The blurry photos show the man, who looks extremely hairy or covered in dirt, sitting on the ground and appearing to be playing with the sand.
Gina Weiss, 31, and her boyfriend Tobi, 38, were out and about in Blankenburg in the state of Saxony-Anhalt on Tuesday evening when it got dark.
Ms Weiss told the German newspaper Bild: “When we reached the sand caves, we saw the wolf-man.” He was standing high up in one of the caves, holding a long wooden staff like a spear in his arm.
“He kept his eyes on us and said nothing.” “He looked dirty like a Stone Age man from a history book.”

The couple said the encounter with the man, believed to be in his 40s, lasted about 10 minutes.
It is not the first time that the supposed “wolf man” has been sighted in the Blankenburg region.
Authorities said they had received several reports of a figure wearing wolf fur or a wolf costume in the forest over the past half decade.
A terrified hiker called police in March asking for “help” after seeing a “wolfman walking around”.

Fire pits and shelters made from tree branches have been discovered on other occasions.
Blackburn Fire Brigade Chief Alexander Beck said: “Someone clearly knows how to live outside and adapt to the changing seasons.”
However, a volunteer from the local fire brigade told the Telegraph the recent sighting was “nonsense” and said the photos were “a hoax”.
Almost a third of Germany’s area is covered by dense forest and so myths and legends about the people who make their living from agriculture keep popping up.
The dense forests have been an inspiration for stories and fairy tales for centuries, including those of the German Brothers Grimm.
