What is the NASA competition about?

According to the registration website, the aim of the participant is to use satellite images to identify and classify the severity of the spread of cyanobacteria in small freshwater bodies.

This will enable water quality managers to better allocate sampling resources and make more informed decisions about public health alerts for drinking and recreational water. In other words, it’s quite a responsibility that only a satellite photo can tell, and with great reward.

About the competition and participation

The name of the competition is Tick Tick Bloom. First place wins $12,000 (R$61,075.20). The second costs $9,000 (R$45,806.40) and the last $6,000 (R$30,537.60).
