But recently NASA just revealed what it looks like the largest black hole in a rather remarkable video. You can find it below, published on YouTube. A huge success as it was viewed nearly 500,000 times in two weeks.
It’s fascinating, don’t you think? Such a black hole can contain anywhere from 100,000 times to tens of billions of times the mass of our Sun. In the video, 10 giant black holes are staged with the camera rolling back, from the smallest to the largest. The two larger ones are known as NGC 7727. One of the two is 150 million times more massive than the Sun.

But what actually is a black hole? “A black hole is a region of space whose gravitational field is so intense that it prevents any form of matter or radiation from escaping it. A black hole is created.” after the death of a very massive star. The star’s core collapses in on itself, expelling the star’s outer layers in a gigantic explosion: a supernova. The rest of the matter is concentrated in a small point called the singularity. “The gravity of a black hole is so strong that it traps everything – even light,” according to the Canadian Space Agency.
