Saturday brought an action-packed day at the track and FOX was with you from start to finish.
Drivers headed to Martinsville Speedway for the newly shortened, 210-mile Blue-Emu Maximum Pain Relief 400, the second Cup Series event of the month.
Although Chase Elliott won the first two stages, William Byron took the win and emerged victorious. It was Byron’s second win of the year, the first driver to do so.
Here are the top moments from Virginia:
Prepare the stage
The drivers went a bit late for an 80-lap opening stage – the start time was pushed back to allow the track to dry after some rain, ice and sleet hit the area.
story
Hendrick Motorsports drivers love racing in Martinsville. Leading 10,000 miles on a track is another level of dominance.
Tier 1 Winner
Chase Elliott set the tone early, winning stage one in Martinsville.
At close range
Seeing the action on the track is one thing, but actually being on the track is another. Thanks to Austin Cindric, the fan experience can be as close to the real experience as possible.
Double
Another stage, another win for Elliott. During the first phase he was a man on a mission, and in the second it was more of him.
Despite Elliott winning stage two, towards the end Daniel Suarez was aiming for glory to try and gain ground in the leaderboard.
It’s getting hot
As the race nears the home stretch, it’s only natural that the drivers’ performance levels have increased.
We have a winner
Byron stayed the course for the duration of the race and eventually became the last driver to emerge victorious at Martinsville.
