Chase Briscoe wins Phoenix Raceway NASCAR Cup Series

NASCAR sponsor bets on Chase Briscoe, winnings pay out in six figures

At one point, Briscoe had +5000 to win at Phoenix Raceway; He went to Victory Lane

NASCAR returned to Phoenix Raceway over the weekend. The 1-mile track hosted the 4th race of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Heading into the event, Chase Briscoe has yet to pick up a win. He pinned Ross Chastain and Tyler Reddick for his first career win.

Just before the race, Briscoe was 100-1 to win the race. Earlier this week Briscoe was +5000.

Rusty Rush, owner of Rush Truck Centers, bet on his driver. That bet paid off in the six-figure range.

Chase Briscoe commenting on the victory

“I never thought I’d be in one truck race, let alone a cup race, and now I’d be the winner,” said Chase Briscoe of the media center.

Briscoe became the 200th NASCAR Cup Series winner.

“Being just one in 200 is humiliating, unbelievable. 7 years ago I was literally two days away from giving up racing. At least from the sidewalk.

“Briggs Cunningham called me and asked if I would like to test the ARCA car. That turned into a race, then into a full season. And it turned out that Ford gave me a chance. There were several times when my career could have ended. Even in the last 4-5 [years]”.

He added: “These guys are incredible riders. Just being on the track with them is humiliating.”

Previously, Briscoe had 11 wins in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. 9 of them were in 2020.

After the victory, Rusty Rush approached Briscoe on the victory strip and showed the winning driver the betting receipt.

“I think he made a bet, he was very excited,” said Chase Briscoe.

“It’s good that he won. Yes, he was quite excited. Rusty Rush, our sponsor, I think he won six figures, so he was very excited.”

Rusty said on the winning track that he sends $1,000 to all the team members.
