NATO chief: can supply Kiev with weapons for years

NATO countries are ready to supply Ukraine with weapons for the fight against Russia in the coming years. This was confirmed today by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with British radio station BBC4.

Stoltenberg said he cannot get into individual weapons systems, but the effects of weapons that have already reached Ukraine can be observed every day. “We see all Russian war equipment destroyed and we see that Ukraine has the capability to shoot down Russian missiles and planes,” said the secretary general of the Western Defense Alliance. He added: “The Allies are ready to deliver more modern and heavier weapons.”

After the delivery of heavy weapons was not discussed for fear of an escalation of the conflict, NATO foreign ministers announced a change in tack at their meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
