Dusseldorf (OTS) – Open the stage for sustainability: At the end of the 15th German Sustainability Day, natural cosmetics manufacturer Laverana was chosen as the winner of the 2023 German Sustainability Prize in the area of resource transformation for around 2,000 guests.

Dr Phillip Haase accepted the coveted trophy on behalf of company founder Thomas Haase and the company.

On December 2, committed actors and TOP companies, for whom sustainable action is an integral part of their business model, gathered in Düsseldorf on the occasion of the German Sustainability Prize.

Simplify, be faster and more efficient: from December 1st to 2nd, the 15th German Sustainability Day once again impressively demonstrated the contribution that people, organizations and companies in Germany have already made in the areas of transforming climate, biodiversity, resources , supply chain and society, and thus address issues where the pressure to act is particularly high.

As every year, at the end of the congress program at the gala event on December 2, opened by Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz, honorary prizewinners such as Prince Albert II of Monaco and Michael Patrick Kelly were honored.

The heart of the German Sustainability Prize awards is the COMPANY competition, which makes transparent how your concepts contribute to advancing important sustainability issues. The coveted trophy in the business competition – resources from the field of transformation – went to the natural cosmetics manufacturer LAVERANA, which for 35 years has consistently focused on a sustainable business model.

Since its founding, Laverana has boldly and intransigently oriented all areas of the company towards sustainability, efficiency and customer needs. This triad is firmly anchored in the company’s DNA and is a consistently lived and sustaining part of the business model – and the reason for the success of the company and the natural cosmetics brand Lavara.

“Our business activities are shaped by ecological, economic and social aspects, from the extraction of raw materials to the disposal of packaging by our customers”, says the company’s founder, Thomas Haase. “Because for 35 years we have considered it our obligation to future generations to take responsibility for the future of our planet.”

Early in the company’s history, the founder’s vision was to make certified natural cosmetics available and thereby change the range of care products and long-term care behavior. He was way ahead of his time.

Successfully, because Lavera now exports around 250 Lavera natural cosmetic products from Lower Saxony to more than 40 countries and is involved in climate protection and development projects all over the world. An integrated management system controls resource consumption and all energy, waste and environmental management systems, occupational health and safety and quality assurance down to the last detail.

In 2021, the company’s founder transferred Laverana to the foundation of the same name, thus ensuring the preservation of its sustainable founding idea. Members of the board of directors include his son Dr. Phillip Haase, who has held key roles at the company for 6 years. Also for Dr. Phillip Haase is sure: “As a company, we can strengthen sustainability with efficient and smart solutions. Everyone can also contribute to reducing their own ecological footprint by buying sustainable products”.

Because one thing is certain for the company: nature is the only truth – and everyone must take responsibility and do everything to preserve it.
