Navalny's mother speaks outdoors, in the snow, in front of the IK-3 penal colony where her son died on February 16. “For the fifth day I didn’t see him, they didn’t give me his body and they didn’t even tell me where he was,” the woman said. “I am turning to you, Vladimir Putin,” the message continues, “the solution to the problem depends only on you. Let me finally see my son. I ask that Alexei's body be handed over immediately so that I can bury him humanely.” The video ends with a shot of the dome of a church with a cross on it. The head of Navalny's anti-corruption foundation, Ivan Zhdanov, emphasized that a written appeal had been sent to Putin at the same time.

Navalny's widow, Yulia Navalnaya, also asked and wrote about who else could ask questions: “Don't ask about me, ask about Alexei,” the opponent's wife adds.
