Quebec pivot Khem Birch is placed on waivers by the San Antonio Spurs.
The Athletic website learned this on Thursday.

The competition for the replacement position in that position behind young Victor Wembanyama looked very tough. The Texas team will undoubtedly rely on Charles Bassey, who was Jakob Pöltl’s understudy and now plays for the Toronto Raptors.
The 31-year-old Montrealer also wore the jersey of the only Canadian team in the NBA last year. He only played 20 games as he struggled with a recurring knee injury. He was transferred to Spurs in February but did not play a game for the team.
Best known for his defensive work, Birch averaged 5.0 points and 4.4 rebounds per game during his six-season career. It was the Orlando Magic who gave him his first chance in the Silver circuit in 2017 since he was never drafted.
