You’ve heard of Survivor, haven’t you? The show where maybe 20 contestants are put on an island to compete against each other in a series of challenges in a month or two? Well, NBC is preparing a new reality show that makes Surviver look like some kind of baby nonsense. Named Million Dollar Island and based on a Dutch show, the series puts 100 people on the island in 50 days, and the last remaining person receives $ 1 million.

However, this makes it sound a little more PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds / Fortnite / Battle Royale (choose your reference point) than it will be in the end. On the one hand, there are no hidden weapons around the island. In addition, NBC probably does not want anyone killed so that their bodies can be looted for better equipment – although this thematic thread is still there on the island for millions of dollars.

As explained by The Hollywood Reporter, each participant on Million Dollar Island receives a bracelet meaning $ 10,000. They will gain or lose bracelets based on the things they do on the island, and “when a player leaves the island” (probably alive), they must choose who will receive their bracelets with money. This means that you will have to have a good relationship with your fellow competitors, or at least make your fellow competitors think you have a good relationship with them, and la Survivor is a Boston Rob master.

Speaking of which, one of the main aspects of Survivor is knowing the contestants and finding those to support or oppose. It will be interesting to see how NBC manages to do this with 100 people moving around the island, as this will ruin things (and somewhat lose the space) if there are only a dozen people we actually hear from. The smart move may be to give this thing a very charismatic host who can be the star, but we don’t just want to give good ideas for free.
