In Canada, 99,965 vehicles are affected by the recall.

A manufacturing defect may have affected the Occupant Classification System (OCS) in the passenger seat.

A short circuit would impair the sensitivity of the seat and, since the seat can no longer correctly adjust the weight of the occupant, it would not trigger the airbag deployment as expected in certain collisions.

You can find the list of affected vehicles here.

Toyota:

Avalon, Avalon Hybrid: 2020 – 2021

Camry, Camry Hybrid: 2020 – 2022

Crown: 2020 – 2021

RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid: 2020 – 2021

Sienna Hybrid: 2021

ES350: 2020 – 2021

On all affected vehicles, Toyota and Lexus dealers will check the OCS sensors and replace them free of charge if necessary, Toyota assured.
