Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced on ABC News that his country would have “overall responsibility for the security” of the Gaza Strip “indefinitely” once the war with Hamas ends.
“Because we’ve seen what happens when we don’t have it.
“If we do not have this security responsibility, we will see the explosion of Hamas terror on a scale we cannot imagine,” he said.
Netanyahu has once again rejected the idea of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip without releasing the hostages kidnapped by Hamas. “Without the release of our hostages, there will be no ceasefire, no general ceasefire in Gaza,” he said in an interview with ABC News. “As for the little breaks – an hour here, an hour there – we’ve already had those,” Netanyahu added. “I assume that we will control the circumstances so that the goods, the humanitarian goods, can arrive or our hostages, individual hostages, can leave the country,” the Israeli prime minister said.
