Griselda is the latest dark crime series to take the internet by storm, and fans are so “obsessed” with the Netflix drama that they “can't sleep” until they finish reading it.
The miniseries premiered on January 25 and follows the life of Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian drug lord who ran a cocaine empire in Miami.
Modern Family's Sofia Vergara plays the title character and was praised for her performance.
Viewers were so excited that they took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to express their excitement and share that they were hooked after just one episode of the six-part show.
One viewer predicted that this would give Vergara a clear award, writing: “Griselda Blanco turning her children into murderers and drug dealers is WILD.” “Sofia Vergara is on the verge of being nominated for everything from this Netflix miniseries .”
Netflix fans have said they “can't sleep” without watching gritty crime series Griselda, which stars Sofia Vergara as Griselda Blanco, a notorious Colombian drug lord

Other viewers shared: “I started watching Griselda so my new personality for this week will soon be the drug lord leader, the queen of the underworld”; “I used to be obsessed with Griselda Blanco and Pablo Escobar”; “Griselda may be the best thing on Netflix right now”;
“Baby, the Griselda Netflix show is a HIT.” Best six hours of TV I've watched in a LONG time!'; “Griselda is so good. “I sat down,” and another admitted to binging the miniseries: “Six hours of Griselda smashing.”
However, one viewer wasn't as intrigued by the dramatization and said the producers played it too safe with Blanco's portrayal.
They mused: “Griselda on Netflix is good, but I feel like in some ways they're too safe to humanize her.” Griselda Blanco was ruthless. She started killing when she was eleven.
“The TV show makes her seem soft.”
While fans expressed their approval of the show, the family of Blanco — who was murdered by gunshot in 2012 — filed a lawsuit alleging “unauthorized use of their family's likeness,” according to TMZ.
Blanco's son, Michael Corleone, claims he spent years conducting interviews to put his and his mother's life story on paper in hopes of turning it into a production.
He previously told of his anger and disappointment that Vergara and her team rejected his offer to consult on the project.
Most users of X, formerly known as Twitter, were intrigued by the show, with some even seeming addicted to the gritty crime drama
He called the rejection a “slap in the face” and said they “wouldn't have gotten away with it” if his mother were still alive.
Blanco, who was born in Santa Marta, Colombia, grew up in poverty and the lack of money forced her into a life of crime from a young age.
It was alleged that she fell into the path of pickpocketing and prostitution before finding love again with drug dealer Alberto Bravo, who soon got her involved in the cocaine industry.
The pair used New York as a base to smuggle drugs into the US – and Blanco seemed to have a knack for it – and later founded a massive cocaine empire worth billions.
Blanco's son Michael Corleone has reportedly filed a lawsuit over the show's alleged “unauthorized use of her family's likeness.”
Netflix fans can't sleep without watching the new gritty crime series, calling it “the best thing on TV right now.”
