Netflix has been criticized by viewers for releasing the “worst Christmas movie of all time” despite an all-star cast

Viewers have slammed one of Netflix’s latest Christmas films, calling it the worst holiday film of all time – despite it featuring a star-studded cast.

To rub salt in the wound, the film, which is now available on the streaming platform, has an abysmal Rotten Tomato score of 33 percent.

Best Christmas ever! sees mother-of-two Charlotte (Heather Graham) arrive uninvited at the home of her former best friend Jackie (Brandy Norwood) to find out if her boastful annual festive newsletters are actually true.

But Charlotte is amazed when she discovers her former friend’s seemingly perfect life.

Charlotte ends up spending the festive season with her former friend’s family, along with her husband Rob (Jason Biggs) and children Dora (Abby Villasmil) and Grant (Wyatt Hunt).

Despite witnessing firsthand that Jackie’s life is real, Charlotte remains unconvinced.

She is jealous of Jackie, who has a 10-year-old daughter attending Harvard, a son helping in a humanitarian crisis in Africa, and a stunning husband named Valentino (Matt Cedeño).

In order to poke holes in her former friend’s life, the mother of two searches the Jenning family home.

She is also looking for a letter that her husband sent to Jackie, as the two were previously together in college.

Everything soon reaches a boiling point when Charlotte accidentally damages a dollhouse that Jackie built over the course of a few months.

The family later brings up Charlotte’s recent actions, with Rob pointing out that she is just trying to find something wrong in Jackie’s life because she is so unhappy with her own.

After she admits that she tried to find the letter, Rob admits that it was a celebratory newsletter that he sent out to different people every year.

He hadn’t told his wife about the Christmas letters because he knew how much she despised them.

On the way back to her house, Charlotte is stopped by a woman dressed as an angel who tells her she should spend the holidays with Jackie, adding: “She loves company, especially this time of year.”

Shortly afterwards, the mother of two drives past a sign with Jackie’s son’s name on it and it says: “Daniel Jennings Memorial Fund”.

When Charlotte realizes that Jackie’s son David was not in Africa but has actually died, she rushes back to Jackie’s house.

A bereaved Jackie explains that she couldn’t bear to write about Daniel’s death, so she wrote about it instead, as if Daniel had set up the foundation to keep his memory alive.

Although the film’s plot is seemingly heartwarming, some fans still refer to it as the “worst movie of all time.”

On X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan wrote: “Best.” Christmas. Always! could possibly be the worst Christmas movie of all time.

‘Preferably. Christmas. Always! on Netflix is the worst. Movie. Always,” said a second.

“Avoid it, or better yet, stick your eyes out.” That’s much more fun than dealing with this 1.5 hour waste of time.”

Another agreed: “Netflix’s Best Christmas Ever is the worst movie I’ve ever seen. You should be ashamed of yourself for airing this film.”

“Best Christmas ever on @netflix may just be the absolute worst Christmas movie I’ve ever seen,” one user said
