In an interview with Variety, lead actor Cillian Murphy said, “I think this is the culmination of a series that will hopefully improve on last season and make the final season as rich and deep as possible.”

The 45-year-old Irish actor who plays gang leader Tommy Shelby explained that following the tragic death of actress Helen McRory last year, the cast is “intending” to make her “special”.

He continued: “Partly because of the whole pandemic going on in the world and of course because of the really sad loss of [Helen] McCrory.
