Netflix arrived in France in September 2014 and has come a long way since its launch. First, by the amount of programs. Today, dozens of series, movies, and documentaries are added to the streaming platform every week. Obviously there is something for everyone, from comedy to drama, to horror, thriller, romance or even sci-fi. On Netflix you can also find more and more stand-ups like the shows by Panayotis Pascot, Nora Hamzawi, Gad Elmaleh, but also those by international artists like Ricky Gervais or Patton Oswald. And just as the platform is still debating its decision to ban account sharing, we just learned that this Saturday night, March 4th, 2023, it is releasing an unexpected novelty.
Netflix is getting into live content
To pamper its subscribers (Insomniacs) even more, Netflix will launch a big novelty on the night of Friday March 3rd to Saturday March 4th: the platform will offer for the first time a live show. The lucky one chosen to open this new show is none other than actor and comedian Chris Rock, whose show will be titled Selective Outrage Broadcast at 4 a.m live from Baltimore. A pre-show and an after-show will also be broadcast live on the platform. This means that Netflix subscribers can watch the show live, and latecomers can grab it right from the start. All platform functions (such as rewind or pause function) are accessible during retransmission.
