Netflix has released the latest trailer for the liveaction adaptation of One Piece, which premieres August 31, exclusively on the company’s streaming service.
Inspired by the work of Eiichiro Oda who helped produce the series, Netflix’s One Piece will follow Luffy and his Straw Hat Pirates as in the world famous manga that also led to an equally famous anime around the world.
This trailer shows great attention to detail in recreating scenarios, characters and even combat moments, even if not everything looks perfect, which would be almost impossible to achieve.
Netflix has a history of controversial adaptations and is often criticized for its treatment of Japanese works. One Piece seems to show that they make an effort, at least in the settings and characters.
