Netflix has released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Resident Evil TV series based on Capcom’s popular Resident Evil video games. The series will feature “the best of Resident Evil DNA,” according to a Netflix press release, including badass heroines, a battle to survive, new and familiar creatures, and a mystery to solve. We see a vial of what looks like blood, a pill marked “joy” on a yellow background, and several vials of blood in the third image. So far: no zombies.

Netflix first announced the series in August 2020 and said it would take place over two timelines, one with sisters Jade and Billy Wesker (fans will recognize this last name), who move to New Raccoon City as teenagers, and the other through years in the future. , with Jade and the others trying to survive on a zombie-ravaged Earth. 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by bloodthirsty infected and insane creatures. In this ultimate carnage, Jade is haunted by her past in New Raccoon City, her father’s frightening ties to the Umbrella Corporation, but mostly what happened to her sister Billy.
Starring Lance Reddick as Albert Wesker, Ella Balinska, Tamara Smart, Siena Agudong, Adeline Rudolf and Paola Nunez, the eight-episode series was produced by Constantin Film, which also produced the Resident Evil films starring Milla Jovovich. It will debut on Netflix on July 14th.
