Netflix has released the full trailer for Kenya Barris’ upcoming comedy You People.
The film follows Jonah Hill as Ezra and Lauren London as Amira, an interracial couple with wedding plans. However, the reunion of their families doesn’t seem to be going well and is proving to be a rocky road for the couple as they try to bring peace to their blossoming relationship while keeping their parents – who are of different cultures, races and creeds – at the same time. happy and not offended:
“When a rideshare opportunity in LA brings Ezra Cohen (Jonah Hill) and Amira Mohammed (Lauren London) together, the two bond over a shared love of streetwear and music. As they fall in love, their relationship is tested by their respective families: Ezra’s progressive and dim-witted parents (Julia Louis-Dreyfus and David Duchovny) and Amira’s adamant but concerned parents (Eddie Murphy and Nia Long), who embrace her bring in life mercilessly. Kenya Barris’ debut feature is a modern day love story set amidst clashing cultures and interfaith relationships.”
You People also stars Sam Jay, Elliott Gould, Travis Bennett, Molly Gordon, Rhea Perlman, Deon Cole, Andrea Savage and Mike Epps. Hill and Barris co-wrote the film and are producing with Kevin Misher, while David Hyman, Matt Dines, Hale Rothstein, Alison Goodwin, Mychelle Deschamps, Andy Berman and Charisse Hewitt-Webster serve as executive producers.
