Netflix announced this Wednesday (18) that it will stop offering the “Basic Plan” to new subscribers to the platform in Brazil starting next week.

According to the company, the same measures are also being taken in Germany, Spain, Japan, Mexico and Australia.

The basic plan in Brazil costs R$25.90 per month. This allows you to watch videos in 720p resolution on just one device at a time.

In addition, this Wednesday (18), Netflix increased subscription prices for some plans in the United States, United Kingdom and France.

Netflix has already adopted the abolition of the basic plan for new members in other countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Italy and Canada.

The company’s immediate priority is to “build an advertising association to make Netflix a musthave purchase for advertisers.”
