Netherlands to offer BRL 25,000 per month scholarships for undergraduates and masters 11/07/2022

Applications for Holland Scholarships, a scholarship program funded by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Science and Culture in partnership with the country’s universities, are now open. The financial contribution for those who wish to study in the Netherlands covers the cost of the first year of study without the possibility of an extension.

The scholarships offer a monthly grant of EUR 5,000 (R$ 25,000) intended for international students outside the European Economic Area (EEA). The amount can be used for more than 2,100 programs taught in English at Dutch institutions.

Scholarship requirements for studying in the Netherlands

Students originating from a nonEEA country (therefore Brazilians are eligible) can apply for the Holland Scholarship Scheme; who do not have a degree from a Dutch university and meet all the requirements of the chosen university.

The application must be made on the website of the institution where the candidate intends to study. You can find the list of research universities in the program here and the universities of applied sciences involved on this page. On both pages you will find links to the procedures and registration portals of the respective institutions.

The application process varies depending on the university and the chosen course. However, some general requirements are the submission of study certificates, letters of motivation, letters of recommendation and knowledge of English.

For more information on Holland Scholarships, see this link (available here). The application period also varies depending on the degree program and institution and runs from February 1 to May 1, 2023.
