New acts in Brazil against the result of the presidential elections

Sunday was the fifth day of demonstrations since the November 2 holiday.

Bolsonaro’s supporters reject Labor Party candidate Lula’s third election victory and call for military intervention by the armed forces.

The R7 portal ensures that protesters in Sao Paulo occupied the streets of Ibirapuera in front of the Southeast Military Command.

The protests in Rio de Janeiro also took place in front of a barracks in the Military Command East on Duque de Caxias square.

The act in Salvador, the capital of the northern state of Bahia, also took place in front of Mouraria’s military staff.

Porto Alegre, capital of Rio Grande do Sul state, had protests in the center of the city, and in Recife, capital of the territorial division of Pernambuco (Northeast), the former military’s supporters rallied in front of the Northeast military command.

In Brasilia there were demonstrations in support of Bolsonaro with about 100 people on motorcycles around the esplanade of the ministries.

Such mobilizations were accompanied last week by roadblocks conducted by truck drivers sympathetic to the defeated former army captain.

In this regard, the President of the Supreme Electoral Court (TSE), Alexandre de Moraes, reiterated on November 3 that the demonstrations against the results of the presidential elections were “illegal, anti-democratic and criminal”.

De Moraes also insisted that the majority of voters democratically approved the lawsuit’s outcome and those who did not accept it and “practiced anti-democratic acts” “will be treated as criminals.”

The voters are democrats, “they believe in democracy, they believe in the rule of law, they appear (at the ballot box), choose their candidates and accept the election results democratically,” emphasized the magistrate.
