This is the second time the British army has acted alongside American forces since attacks against Yemen's Houthi rebels began on January 12.

American and British forces are carrying out attacks on sites in the Yemeni capital Sanaa and other parts of the country, the Houthi rebel news agency said early Tuesday (Jan 23). “American-British forces are launching raids on the capital Sanaa and several governorates” in the country, the Houthi press agency Saba said in a brief warning in Arabic.

Washington and London confirmed shortly afterwards that they had targeted eight targets. “Today’s attacks specifically targeted a Houthi underground camp and Houthi missile and air surveillance facilities,” a joint statement said.

This is the second time the British army has acted alongside American forces since attacks against the Houthis began on January 12. These are being carried out in response to repeated attacks by Yemeni rebels on merchant ships in the Red Sea, a key area for global trade.
